April Car Care Classes Wrap-Up: Learning, Lifting Hoods, and Leveling Up Confidence

At Cassill Motors in Cedar Rapids, we're passionate about more than just selling cars—we love empowering our community through automotive education. This April, we were thrilled to host two Car Care Classes designed to boost confidence, build hands-on skills, and help drivers better understand the vehicles they rely on every day.

On April 14, Jon Leydens led our Advanced Car Care Class at Cassill Motors, bringing his deep automotive knowledge and teacher’s heart to the shop floor. Jon is committed to making sure every student walks away with real-world skills—and this class delivered just that.

With a smaller class size, participants rolled up their sleeves to change oil, inspect undercarriage components, and review how to safely change a tire. It was a hands-on, practical experience that gave attendees the confidence to care for their vehicles long after the class ended.

Then on April 21, our very own Jay Cassill, known around here as the Car Geek, led a knowledge-packed session full of helpful insights about how cars work and how to keep them running smoothly. While Jay’s teaching style is less hands-on, his depth of experience and storytelling approach kept the group engaged. Students still got a chance to learn the basics of tire changing—plus a whole lot more about what’s happening under the hood.

Both classes were held right here at Cassill Motors in Cedar Rapids, and we were honored to have so many community members join us. It’s always our goal to help local drivers feel more empowered, whether they’re shopping for a new vehicle or just want to learn how to take better care of the one they’ve got.
