Job Summary: The ideal candidates will have a passion for cars and be committed to providing exceptional cleaning, polishing, and detailing services. As an Automotive Detailer, you will play a key role in ensuring that vehicles are in pristine condition, both inside and out, before delivery to customers. This position requires strong attention to detail, a keen eye for cleanliness, and a commitment to quality work.

Key Responsibilities:

  2. Exterior Detailing: Clean, wash, wax, and polish the exterior of vehicles, including the body, windows, tires, and rims
  3. Interior Detailing: Vacuum, shampoo, and clean vehicle interiors, including seats, carpets, dashboards, and consoles
  4. Surface Restoration: Remove stains, odors, and imperfections from upholstery and other interior surfaces using appropriate cleaning products and tools
  5. Paint Care: Apply protective coatings and ensure proper maintenance of the vehicle's paintwork, including polishing and buffing to remove scratches or imperfections
  6. Engine Bay Cleaning: Clean engine compartments, using appropriate methods and chemicals to remove grease and grime while avoiding damage to sensitive parts
  7. Vehicle Preparation: Prepare vehicles for front-line sales and customer delivery, ensuring all work is completed to high standards of cleanliness and presentation
  8. Marketing Preparation: Take and upload quality photographs of finished product for marketing
  9. Inspection: Inspect vehicles for cleanliness, detailing quality, and any potential issues that may require attention before delivery
  10. Organization and Inventory Management: Maintain and organize cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring they are well-stocked and in working condition
  11. Collaboration: Work closely with body shop technicians and other staff to ensure a seamless workflow and excellent customer satisfaction
  12. Work 4 10-hour days/week and additional hours, as needed
  13. Ability to report to work as scheduled and work full scheduled hours to meet job expectations
  14. Other duties, as assigned


Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
  2. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (for moving vehicles, as needed)
  3. Prior experience in automotive detailing or car washing is a plus
  4. Knowledge of automotive care products, tools, and detailing techniques
  5. Ability to operate detailing equipment such as buffers, pressure washers, and vacuums
  6. Ability to read instructions for cleaning equipment and use of chemicals
  7. Strong attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness
  8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  9. Excellent time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple vehicles in a timely manner
  10. Ability to work professionally and respectfully with others while demonstrating positive interpersonal skills, and communicate effectively with all team members and management
  11. Strong communication skills and ability to interact professionally with customers


Physical Requirements:

  1. Stand and walk during scheduled shifts, regularly
  2. Use wrists, hands, and fingers to handle, feel, and grip objects, tools, and other components to operate equipment and perform work, regularly
  3. Bend, stoop, kneel, twist, stretch, push, pull, crouch, crawl, and reach, regularly
  4. Talk effectively, hear/listen and understand, and smell, regularly
  5. Sit and balance, regularly
  6. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision (distinguish colors), peripheral vision, depth perception, 3-dimensional vision (judge distances and spatial relationships), and the ability to adjust focus
  7. Lifting up to 60-70 lbs., occasionally
  8. Work in an environment where extreme temperatures range seasonally from hot to cold, where conditions may be damp and/or wet, and concrete floors may be slippery in some areas
  9. Wear personal protective equipment (PPE), as needed
